In a scandal that humiliated the left, a corrupt Democrat judge from Texas has been charged with money laundering after using unethical practices to fund his own campaign, leading his own party to pressure him to resign after describing him as “playing the victim.”

For context, KP George, a judge in Fort Bend County, Texas, was arrested on April 4, 2025, and charged with multiple counts of money laundering. George was reportedly first elected to his position in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, and he had already been indicted in September 2024 on a misdemeanor charge of misrepresentation of identity.

According to coverage from Houston Public Media, George was adamant that he had done nothing illegal, making the case that he had loaned personal money to his judicial campaign and paid himself back. In a statement shared with the press, George said, “This is a standard and lawful practice.”

Continuing his statement, George said that the Fort Bend County district attorney was “weaponizing” his power to conspire against George, adding, “Allegations and accusations are being made without full context or disclosure of the facts — deliberately manipulating the narrative to tarnish my reputation and character.”

In response to George’s contesting his own arrest, a prosecutor from the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office pushed back, saying that the new charges against George stemmed from a thorough investigation of the judge. The prosecutor told the press, “The District Attorney’s Office has continuously stated that the investigation was ongoing, and that investigation has now led to two 3rd-degree felony indictments for Money Laundering, which were made public today.”

Continuing, the prosecutor explained to the press that the new charges against George were not tied to his previous indictment, saying, “These charges are unrelated to the pending misdemeanor and are assigned to the 458th District Court. Our office remains committed to the integrity our public deserves, and the ethics to which all prosecutors are sworn to. And our investigation remains ongoing.”

In another response to George’s arrest, the Fort Bend County Democratic Party Chairman, Fred Taylor, urged George to resign. “It’s time for him to do the right thing and just step down,” Taylor told ABC 13, continuing, “This county judge has shown his character of always wanting to be the victim, which is what got him in trouble in the first place, and now, trying to play the victim by blaming.”

According to press accounts, Fort Bend County Commissioner Dexter L. McCoy also commented on George’s arrest, expressing concerns about the judge’s unethical behavior. Commissioner McCoy said, “Holding positions of public trust mandates that we hold ourselves to a higher standard, and today’s grand jury indictment demonstrates a clear breach of that standard. My office remains committed to serving the people of Fort Bend County as we navigate the long road ahead.”
