In a dramatic video posted to Facebook, dozens of cruise-goers erupted in a brawl that went viral on social media. In the cinematic clip, passengers can be seen fistfighting and throwing luggage as others desperately attempt to escape the chaos.

For context, cruise ship brawls have become a common sight as lines slash prices and offer large quantities of alcohol to attract patrons. Often, these unruly passengers are banned from subsequent cruises due to their poor behavior.

In any case, the dramatic incident was posted to Facebook on April 26, 2025. Trelle Ray, who captured the disgraceful brawl, added her commentary in the caption to her post. She laconically said, “It went down this morning ‼️ #CarnivalJubilee #carnivalcruise”

The New York Post picked up the story and wrote an article about the drunken dispute, which provided additional context. According to a Carnival Cruise spokesperson, “The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.”

The spokesperson explained the company’s policies towards unruly passengers and said this behavior is unacceptable. Their statement continued, “The matter was turned over to law enforcement. We will not tolerate such behavior, and 24 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail list.”

According to the same article, the violence erupted among Carnival Cruise ship passengers in Texas. Consequently, more than a dozen people were banned from the cruise liner for life. The pugilists had just docked in Galveston following a week-long Caribbean cruise when the brawl broke out.

After the same clip was posted to X, users blasted the passengers for their shockingly bad behavior. One comment noted, “Imagine saving up for your dream cruise and then walking in to the terminal and seeing this.” One of the respondents joked, “Funny, Carnival is on my “do not sail” list.”

Reacting to the disaster, one comment advocated for harsher punishments for the unruly cruise passengers. The reply read, “[We need something] similar to a no-fly list. Create a no-public interstate travel list that disallows anyone to access planes, trains, or boats that get funds from the government if they cause any sort of incident or need to be forcibly removed from public transportation. Tie it to their passport.”

Offering their personal cruising experience, one user noted a decline in the quality of passengers. The reply read, “We have cruised extensively. By far, our family’s only negative experience was on the Carnival line—the crowds were very young, rowdy, and seemed to travel in very large groups of frenemies. Add alcohol + closed quarters, and everyone’s experience is ruined.”

Roundin’ out the comments, many social media users said that Carnival Cruises brought this behavior on themselves by catering to low-income customers. One of the many replies noted, “Carnival is known as the party cruise. I’ve been on many cruises, but I refuse to go on Carnival.” Another replied in a similar vein, saying, “I went on one carnival cruise in my life. I will never go again. Low-cost cruise equals low-cost people.”
