In the wake of an incident that began with a very reasonable order from Pete Hegseth and ended with a very funny and absolutely merciless post from him, Trump Administration Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth completely torched Hillary Clinton by exposing her two-faced, opportunistic stance on American relations with the Russian Federation. After Hegseth did so, online commenters chimed in to further roast Hillary over the coals.

It all began when, in early March, Secretary of Defense Hegseth allegedly ordered U.S. Cyber Command to “stand down from all planning against Russia, including offensive digital actions.” The order did not apply to the National Security Agency (NSA), and appeared to be meant to turn down the temperature between America and the Russian Federation so that President Trump would have a better chance of striking a war-ending deal to bring an end to the Russo-Ukraine War.

Predictably, however, the leftist media went absolutely insane after he did so, with many accusing him of bending to the Russians and some even accusing him of treason. In this situation, however, it was an article from the outlet Gizmodo that became relevant and led to the entertaining X exchange.

Gizmodo, for its part, ran an article announcing the news with a headline that read, “Trump’s Defense Secretary Hegseth Orders Cyber Command to ‘Stand Down’ on All Russia Operations.” Predictably, that triggered former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose campaign used the Russia Hoax to cause serious issues in Trump’s first campaign and term. In any case, she, trying to get in a dig at Trump’s Administration by attacking Hegseth, posted the article on X and captioned it, “Wouldn’t want to hurt Putin’s feelings.”

Hegseth fired back with the perfect response. Bringing the heat with one epic receipt, he left a captionless photo as a comment on her post. The picture showed Clinton with a broad smile next to then-Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov in March 2009, with the two of them holding the infamous red “reset” button meant to symbolize America and Russia resetting their relations in positive way. That proved to be a phantom hope. Here’s the post:

As could be expected, conservative posters online absolutely loved the response. Eric Daugherty, a conservative commentator on X, led a bunch of the praise of Hegseth’s response, posting a screengrab ot he exchange and saying, “🚨 SecDef Pete Hegseth just publicly humiliated Hillary Clinton. That’s Hillary, as Sec. of State, jubilant while meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. 👀”

Commenters on his post loved it too. One, for example, simply wrote, “Bodied.” Another said, “We are now led by serious people in an unserious world. Trump is working to avoid WWIII.” Still another commenter wrote, “How quickly the MSM forgets. Put it in their [selective] memory file.”

Yet other commenters left supportive messages like, “That’s a spectacular response. No words just the receipts,” “That is EXACTLY what I voted for!!!!,” “Definitely a mic drop moment,” and “Millions of us know who the Democrats really are and what they’ve done to our citizens and our country.”
