Kash Patel wrote an important piece for The Federalist last summer which implicated Nancy Pelosi in knowingly refusing aid from Donald Trump in order to capitalize on the January 6th protest. Patel says that his testimony, which would have vindicated Donald Trump, was blocked. He also attached a video of Pelosi seemingly taking some responsibility for the disorder.

“Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?” Pelosi asks in a fury in a video recorded by her daughter, who just happened to be filming her mother, then-Speaker of the House, on January 6th. “They clearly didn’t know, and I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more,”‘ Pelosi continued.  “Of course, after the footage leaked, Pelosi joined MSNBC to decry the clip as Trump supporters’ “revisionist history,’” Patel said of it.

In the behind-the-scenes video, Pelosi is clearly panicked about what transpired and is afraid of it reflecting back on her. “We have responsibility…we did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have this is ridiculous. You’re going to ask me in the middle of the thing, but they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff that should we call the Capitol Police? I mean, the National Guard? Why weren’t the national guard there to begin with? They thought that they had sufficient there’s not a question of how they don’t know. They clearly didn’t know, and I take responsibility for not having them. Just prepare for more.”

In a subsequent mop-up effort, Pelosi fled to MSNBC where she tried setting the record straight by playing the usual Trump card. “The fact is that the President of the United States, the former president and his toddies, do not want to face the facts. They’re trying to do revisionist history on January 6. But we cannot let us be dragged into their again, false impression of what happened that day. They know what happened that day,” she said to one of MSNBC’s resident anti-Trump hosts Nicole Wallace.

Patel’s piece, relying not just on the video clips but also his own first-hand account of the time, sent shockwaves through D.C. “For years, I have testified under oath, in the media, and everywhere in between that Pelosi and Bowser were responsible for not requesting the National Guard on Jan. 6 after President Trump constitutionally authorized deploying the guard,” The now-FBI Director wrote. “We submitted the best evidence — their own written refusals — to the partisan Jan. 6 Committee. They excluded them from the record despite agreeing to include the letter and timeline.”

“Pelosi did more than just create the unlawful and unconstitutional Jan. 6 committee; she hid evidence directly relevant to a congressional investigation, lied to the world, and decided to spend Jan. 6 filming a movie of herself,” he said. ” The sheer conceit of it all is surpassed only by her evil desire to destroy a movement that seeks to demolish her brand of corruption.”
