In a chaotic scene, roughly two dozen protesters stormed the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s budget reconciliation markup, protesting rumored cuts to Medicare. Despite the shameful and potentially illegal actions of the protestors, Democrats capitalized on the event by thanking the protestors, prompting widespread condemnation.

For context, since the January 6 debacle, Democrats have treated the date as if it were a national day of mourning. Despite the broad media support for the dangerous George Floyd riots, far-left pundits in the mainstream media have reduced themselves to hysterics while discussing the events of the Capitol riot.

Breaking the news on X, a large conservative account posted a video of the controversial protest that took place on May 13, 2025. The caption to the post read, “HAPPENING NOW: Democrat boomers are staging an insurrection and attempting to push their way through Capitol Police at the Rayburn House Office Building.”

Incensed by the blatant double standard of Democrats, users took to the comments to express their anger/ One such comment said, “@GOPoversight will this be investigated? All the democrats illegally trespassing at the ICE detention facility and now this yet, J6 defendants had no due process these idiots scream about.”

Annoyed by the apparent double standard at play, dozens of comments compared the reaction of Democrats to this protest to their remarks about the January 6th riots. One such comment read, “Interesting that they can do this not get shot ( like Ashley) not get arrested ( like J6ers) not be called insurrectionist ( Like Trump supporters). Enough of this Nonsense arrest them all.” Agreeing an account posted, “Yep – that definitely looks a lot like J6! Anybody seen Ray Epps? Scaffold Commander? Capitol Police firing rubber bullets and tossing tear gas grenades into the crowd yet?”

Using sarcasm to make their point, several commentators mocked the handwringing tone used by liberals to discuss jan 6. A user joked, “I’m literally shaking right now. This is a direct attack on our democracy. We should lock them up for life! Am I doing this right?” Building on this point, another said, “This is the worst day in history !! It’s like Pearl Harbor !! It’s like WWII !! Our country is being attacked by democrats who are trying to overthrow the US government !! They must be stopped at all costs !! They must be imprisoned now !!”

Demolishing their foolish protest, one user stated, “They want people on Medicaid to believe that the Republicans are making big cuts to the program, and they are valiantly and courageously trying to stop them from doing it. The truth is they are cutting waste, fraud, and abuse, and these geriatric clowntards are lying as usual.”

Reacting to the dramatic footage, one user said, “Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ thanks Arrested insurrectionists for blocking the government from doing their jobs. Democrats still rail against J6 while actively participating in insurrections, trespassing and inciting violence against law enforcement. Can you see what’s happening?”

Responding to Sen. Booker on an unrelated post, another user declared, “Democrat protesters stormed the Rayburn Building and staged an insurrection in DC today. This is worse than Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Sen. Cory Booker should be impeached for coordinating a insurrection he even thanked them.”
