In a furious and absurd interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” program on Sunday, February 16, far-left Sen. Amy Klobuchar went berserk over the efforts that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, is making to rein in spending. In fact, she even threatened those doing to spending pausing and cuts with jail time over their actions.

As background, part of the Trump Administration’s efforts to tamp down on immigration was a pause on foreign aid spending, along with various freezes, pauses, and cuts to various other forms of spending, such as welfare and government grants. Some of those pauses have been overturned by courts, though the cases largely remain up in the air.

So, it was about all that court drama that CNN host Dana Bash asked Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in the “State of the Union” interview, asking what would happen if members of the Trump Administration did not follow court orders. Sen. Klobuchar said that not following the court’s orers “could mean going to jail.”

Bash, introducing the matter by expressing the now-reverence Democrats pretend to have for the courts, a massive change from their reaction to Roe v. Wade being overturned, said, “You’ve also said that the courts, assuming that what you just described is not going to happen, the Republicans won’t stand up, the courts are the last line of defense.”

Continuing, Bash noted that the Trump Administration seems willing to fight and defy the courts over these matters, saying, “There are situations right now, CNN reported this week where the administration is defying court orders to get them to freeze federal funds for example, are we in a constitutional crisis?”

Sen. Klobuchar began with threats directed toward the whole Trump Administration, from the top to the bottom, saying, “We’re not quite there yet, because ultimately, when the final court order is made, the Trump administration is going to have to decide. And this isn’t just at the top, these are lower level people as well are they going to face contempt charges.”

She continued by noting that the Democrats used to be aided by the Repbulican members of the senate, saying, “In the past, in the last administration, they did follow the court orders and you do have voices in the United States Senate like Senator Thune, the leader, or people like Chuck Grassley, even Josh Hawley are saying that you have to follow the rule of law.”

She then returned to the matter of contempt of court and going to jail if the woke courts don’t have their orders followed, saying, “But if they don’t, the court has inherent powers to find them in contempt, which, of course, could mean going to jail. I’m not surprised that the courts are stepping in.”

She concluded by attacking Elon, saying, “Of course, it’s Democratic attorney generals across the country that are bringing these cases, but they have basically said, no, Elon Musk cannot start rifling through the data of Americans that violates their privacy. No, you cannot take a agreement that was made between Democrats and Republicans to fund cancer research for kids and just stop that research in its tracks. That’s where you see the courts stepping up.”
