The personal physician of former President Joe Biden is being subpoenaed by Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, to give testimony as allegations of a cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline continue to boil.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor has been compelled to appear for a deposition that’s been scheduled for June 27. The testimony is part of an investigation to uncover whether Biden’s cognitive decline was covered up and whether unauthorized use of the autopen for pardons and executive actions was taken.

“No autopen was used in the signing of this subpoena,” Comer wisecracked on X, making a reference to Biden’s use of an autopen.

Comer first requested that O’Connor volunteer to come to a transcribed interview. The doctor declined.

The Biden White House had previously blocked O’Connor from making an appearance in a separate interview to talk about the former president’s medical assessments and “involvement in the Biden family’s influence peddling racket,” a news release from the committee said

“Among other subjects, the Committee expressed its interest in whether your financial relationship with the Biden family affected your assessment of former President Biden’s physical and mental fitness to fulfill his duties as President,” the subpoena says. “Given your connections with the Biden family, the Committee sought to understand if you contributed to an effort to hide former President Biden’s fitness to serve from the American people.”

While Biden was serving as the president, his mental acuity was a constant concern, despite reassurances from those close to him that he was fine. The scrutiny got even worse after he left office and announced a prostate cancer diagnosis.

During his administration, Biden received one clean bill of health after another from O’Connor, Fox News reported.

O’Connor is the medical physician who has been in charge of Biden’s health since 2009. He’s established a close relationship with him and his family.

O’Connor largely remained out of the public eye during the Biden era, until spring 2024, when folks in both political parties began to speculate that the president’s health was beginning to slip.

Pundits in the media demanded that O’Connor make a direct statement about the state of Biden’s health.
