The Trump administration is working tirelessly to root out corruption and foreign interference in American elections, with a recently signed presidential memorandum zeroing in on alleged fraudulent donations to a key Democratic fundraising platform that may have come from foreign bad actors.

For context, President Trump signed a memorandum on April 24, 2025, that directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate any fundraising platforms that may be getting contributions from foreign parties who are attempting to steer U.S. elections. Furthermore, the memorandum specifically highlights ActBlue, one of the largest fundraising platforms for the Democratic Party.

In a fact sheet released following the signing of the memorandum, the White House confirmed that ActBlue was the primary subject of the emerging investigation, writing, “A congressional investigation revealed significant fraud schemes using ActBlue and, over a 30-day period during the 2024 election cycle, hundreds of ActBlue donations from foreign IP addresses using prepaid cards, despite it being illegal for foreign nationals to contribute to U.S. elections.”

Furthermore, the White House provided additional background on the impetus for investigating ActBlue and platforms like it, saying, “Recently uncovered evidence suggests that online fundraising platforms are being used to launder excessive and prohibited contributions to political candidates and committees.”

Continuing, the White House pulled no punches in its critique of ActBlue specifically, saying, “ActBlue has become notorious for its lax standards that enable unverified and fraudulent donations.” The fact sheet then added, “A recent House of Representatives investigation found that ActBlue detected at least 22 ‘significant fraud campaigns’ in recent years—nearly half of which had a foreign nexus.”

Regarding the recently signed memorandum, President Trump expressed that he was confident that investigating ActBlue would improve the integrity of American Elections. In the White House fact sheet, the president is quoted as saying, “We’re going to fix our elections so that our elections are going to be honorable and honest.”

Following the signing of the memorandum, America First News shared the news on X, leading conservatives to respond with their support for the president’s actions. One user with the handle madman wrote, “WOW! You think things got loud before! USAID was the Democrat source of grift after they were elected, but Actblue was HOW they got elected. This could be an atomic bomb! ActBlue is their sacred cow!”

The memorandum was signed in the wake of emerging allegations that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) received potentially fraudulent donations through ActBlue, including thousands of dollars credited to a Texas couple who reportedly had no idea that they had contributed to Rep. Crockett’s campaign. Rep. Crockett was later described as ” a criminal who assaults journalists and uses elderly to launder money” by one of many outraged conservatives who weighed in on the scandal on X.
